Design Education for the next generation.
Instill Design is a thought transpired into a mission to educate students from various domains and fields about the importance of Innovation, User Experience design and Sustainability etc. InstillDesign aims to drive the design message to students pursuing any discipline by penetrating deeper into educational institutes across all regions.
I have post graduated in Visual communication from Industrial Design Centre, IIT Mumbai. I have 20 years of experience in project management, web / software development, multimedia and e-learning. Worked in UI design, UX design and interaction design. Worked with international accompanies and have been practicing Usability design since 1997. Trained teams of designers to update project specific skills and knowledge while working with industry. Managed the launch of Mumbai's first ISP (Roltanet, Internet Service Provider) and developed internet services for the Roltanet.
Did study on Inovation in comupter supported Collaborative learninag and working (CSCL & CSCW) with Media Lab in Olso University, while living in Norway.
I have been guest faculty and Jury member in NIFT. Also developed course material for design and enjoyed invitations by reputed design institutes in Mumbai as jury and and guest faculty
Kalyan is an architect with deep rooted obsession for Furniture & Design thinking. He is Graduate from JNTU & Post graduate in industrial design from NID( National Institute of Design) Ahmadabad, brings in 7 good years of multi disciplinary design experience involving Architecture, Interiors, Furniture, Retail design, Branding & Graphic design.
Working in Italy & Mauritius have given him insight in to global design scenario which he applies locally through his present design practices at his own design studio - "KUBE NINE".
He dreams of pursuing his goal of spreading design & design knowledge in India from being a mere life style statement to becoming a sheer basic need for all common people. An avid traveller & food enthusiast, having deep interest in history & lost knowledge systems of India, wants to share the true experience of "Learning through Unlearning one self".
Workshop topics
Experience design is driven by consideration of the moments of engagement, or touchpoints, between people and the product, service, event, or environment and the ideas, emotions, and memories that these moments create.
Goal of this workshop is to understand and create Experience by means of Experience map/ Mental Map, User Persona and Contextual Inquiry around a service/product that participants are well aware of.
This is a hands-on workshop where all the participants would be sitting on floor, drawing hangman on charts, enacting cowboys, and share their stories.
Aim: Main objective of the workshop is to explore, understand and execute design thinking. It will teach students how to bring innovation by thinking laterally.
Format of workshop is four steps: Seminar | Ideation | Hands-on sessions | Presentation
Ideation is the creative process of generating, developing and communicating new ideas. Ideation is an essential part of design process, both in education and practice. Knowing the right tools and practices to validate large number of ideas quickly is the key.
The goal of this workshop is to make students aware of those practices and use them effectively in the job. Brainstorming is a group creativity technique by which a group tries to find a solution for a specific problem by gathering a list of ideas spontaneously contributed by its members. This workshop provides the opportunity to apply brainstorming techniques for ideating innovative design solutions to business problems in different domains.
Aim: Main objective of this workshop is to make students aware of those practices and use them effectively in the job.
Format of workshop is four steps: Seminar | Ideation | Hands-on sessions | Presentation
